Siemens PLC Training
Courses can be provided onsite or offsite as required, including Siemens STEP 5, STEP 7, TIA Portal and WinCC. Training courses can be tailored to include additional options if required.
Basic Training
S7300_Basic | Typically 3 Days
The basic training course is designed for SIMATIC S7-300 PLC users who are involved with developing or maintaining automation systems and their application programs. The course introduces the S7 product family and provides an overview of the SIMATIC S7-300 system. Hardware and software components as well as system configuration issues are addressed. With a focus on STEP 7 software, program structuring and the instruction set, students are guided through the development of a realistic application through hands on demonstrations. Students will gain experience testing, debugging and using diagnostic tools to complete the course exercises.
Technicians and engineers already familiar with other brands of PLC technology such as Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi and Omron, will be further assisted in the cross-over to Siemens through the use of easy to understand comparisons drawn between various PLC technologies.
Topics
- SIMATIC S7 System Family Overview
- STEP 7 Programming Software
- Configuration and Parametrisation of the S7
- Principles of STEP 7 Programming
- Using the S7-3000 Instruction Set
- Debug and Test Tools
- Program Documentation and Storage
Intermediate Training
S7300_Inter | Typically 3 Days
The intermediate training course is for SIMATIC S7-300 PLC users with engineering experience in the design and configuration of automation systems and their application programs. This course reviews S7 programming concepts and structures. The knowledge and practical exercises provided on this course makes it easier for students to understand more complex programming problems and solutions. The course combines instruction with hands on exercises, including developing for the handling of analogue signals.
If necessary, basic interfacing considerations will be covered including the reasons why precautions are necessary, particularity with regard to safety and EMC constraints. Students familiar with other brands of PLC technology will be assisted in the cross-over to Siemens through the use of easy to understand comparisons drawn between various PLC technologies.
